ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's soccer team return home this weekend to take on defending Big South Conference champion Coastal Carolina. The match will be Saturday afternoon starting at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Field. Admission is free.

The Bulldogs (2-9-1, 1-3-0 BSC) hope to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday. Asheville lost to Campbell on Monday afternoon, 3-1. A very young UNCA team will take on the Chanticleers on Saturday as six freshmen were in Steve Cornish's starting line-up Monday.

"We really are getting better with each match," stated Cornish. "We're very young and everyone knows that but we're competing and battling each time out. Our lads simply have to iron out the mistakes we're making in a match that is leading to goals for our opponents."

Coastal Carolina enters Saturday's match with a deceiving 5-8-1 overall record. The Chanticleers faced a tough non-conference schedule early in the season but have won their last two league matches. Coastal picked up an important league win on the road Wednesday night when it roared to a 3-1 victory, scoring three goals in the second half.

"Coastal Carolina is a good club that is starting to put it together," declared Cornish. "They have a lot of new players, as well but are very talented. Coastal earned a great result at Winthrop Wednesday night and will be a handful for us on Saturday."

Youth is being served with the Bulldogs this year. Asheville has scored 17 goals this year with 11 of them being scored by rookies. Freshman forward Scott Szymanski leads the way for the Bulldogs with five goals. The Bulldogs (2-9-1, 1-3-0 BSC) hope to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday.
