ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's soccer program has added a second exhibition game. The Bulldogs will play host to Tusculum on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at John B. Lewis Soccer Complex on Azalea Road starting at 5 p.m.
UNCA was scheduled to play at Presbyterian last Wednesday (Aug. 17) but that match was cancelled due to a lightning storm in the Clinton, S.C. area.
The Bulldogs lost their exhibition opener Saturday to Louisville, 6-0. Head Coach Steven Cornish expects a tough test from Tusculum Tuesday. The Pioneers went 17-3-2 last season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division II playoffs.
"Tusculum is quite good and this will be a true test for our lads," commented Cornish. "We've watched the tape of the Louisville match and there were some bright spots. We simply had too many breakdowns and when we did break down, Louisville took advantage and put the ball in the back of the net. We'll need to get better and we will."
UNCA opens the regular season on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Wofford.
