ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After an unprecedented academic and athletic year, May closed out all competition for UNC Asheville Athletics in the spring semester. While most of the Bulldog teams finished competing in April, Baseball along with Track & Field capped off the spring 2021 seasons. As we turn the page to June, it's time to vote for your May "Bulldog of the Month," presented by Zaxby's.

To cast your vote for the May "Bulldog of the Month" award, read the information below and visit the poll here. Voting will end Wednesday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m.

Baseball - Dominic Freeberger - Junior - Baltimore, Md.

· Hit .379 and collected 22 hits during the month of May

· Hit one home run and drove in seven runs and was the winning pitcher in Asheville's 11-10 win over Longwood on May 7

· Following the regular season, joined teammate Brandon Lankford by being named to the All-Big South team as a utility player

Men's Track & Field - Anthony Mason - Freshman - College Park, Ga.

· Mason capped his freshman season by earning a trio of All-Big South honors at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

· Broke the program's outdoor record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.81, and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that also set a new school record with a time of 3:14.63.

· Also helped Asheville's 4x100-meter relay squad place second at the Big South Outdoor Championships.

Women's Track & Field - Claudia Prieto - Junior - Madrid, Spain

· Broke the program's outdoor record in the long jump with a leap of 6.01-meters at the Big South Outdoor Championship which landed Prieto a second-place finish.

· Also earned All-Big South honors by placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.16-meters.

· Prieto also competed in the 100-meter dash (4th - 12.41), and was a member of Asheville's 4x100-meter relay team (48.80) that finished sixth.
